Monopoly Madness Hits Campus

Be warned! From mid-May a trip around campus could cost you over £5,000 that is if you buy one of the new limited edition University of Birmingham Monopoly games.
Featuring images from each School and many other familiar campus locations including Old Joe, the Guild and the University train station, the boards have been designed by the Design and Publications team and Winning Moves, the company behind the City of Birmingham Monopoly game.
Winning Moves were especially keen to produce this edition as the company has a special connection with the University. Tom Liddell, Managing Director of Winning Moves, studied Economics at the University, graduating in 1994. Winning Moves was established only four years later.
While some features of the game remain the same: free parking and the possibility of being sent to jail, many have been adapted to reflect campus life.

Community Chest and Chance cards will fine you for a hangover after a night in the Guild bar, or reward you for making a donation to the Development and Alumni Office.
In addition to the regular sized game boards, Winning Moves will also be
presenting the University with a giant board to be wall mounted. Possible locations for the board are being investigated at the moment, with University Centre being the preferred choice.
The games will be on sale from Aston Webb reception priced at £24.99 from mid May so look out for the posters around campus.
We have six games to give away to the first six correct answers to the following question:
What was the name of the college which preceded the University of Birmingham?
Simply e-mail your response to and the first six correct answers will receive their copies of the game.
