Club Conference
2012
Later today you will receive a full outline of Club Conference 2012, which this
year takes place on 11-12 June. If you have not sent us your
Committee Details for next year then please ensure that you send this on to your
elected committee members. We will not consider not knowing as a good enough
excuse for non-attendance and this will result in the loss of your kit
sponsorship. Please note that there are minimum attendances for each
session, and some sessions have specific requirements for committee members to
attend. You are welcome to send members in your place and you can of
course send more than the minimum requirement if you would like. If you
are unable or find a replacement to attend then please contact me in plenty of
time or we will count this as non-attendance and you will lose your kit
sponsorship.

Club of the Month:
Cycling
Cycling have had a month to remember in BUCS. With several of their
championships being squeezed into just over one month it was going to be a hard
task for them to maintain a high standard, but what has been achieved was beyond
any expectations. At the very end of March, the club headed to Newport for the
Track Championships where they picked up 4 medals including two golds for
UBSport Scholar Ciara Horne and a new BUCS record in the 3000m Pursuit.
Three further events in April saw them pick up seven more medals: in the
10-mile time trial the mens and womens teams claimed silver with individual
gold to Ciara Horne; and in the 25-mile TT, the men won team silver with an
individual gold for Xavier Disley and the women won team gold with yet another
individual gold for Ciara.
With two events still to go, Birmingham are in a great position to win the
overall BUCS Cycling league and achieve the status of best cycling university in
the country.
