Club Committee
Handbook Released
One of our summer projects has been creating a Committee Handbook that will act
as a guide for you throughout the year. It should answer many of the
questions that you might have and provide you with hints and tips to help you
run and develop your clubs.Copies of the Handbook will be distributed at the
Refresher Training but a digital copy can be downloaded
here. Please take
a look at it and if you have any feedback, let us know.

New Club Calendar
Available
To go alongside the Club Handbook, UBS and our VP Sport, Tim Smith, have put
together a Club Calendar, which details all the events, deadlines and useful
dates that will happen throughout the year.
The calendar can be downloaded
here
so now there is no excuse not to attend all the training and make all the
deadlines!

Club Development
Fee
Following release of the final Sports Development budgets for last year it is
clear that we are going to be unable to reduce the Club Development Fee to £5 as
was hoped. Instead the fee will remain at £10, which individuals will pay
separately at Munrow Reception as was the case in 2010-11.We will be doing
more than ever to ensure that individuals know what they are paying for and your
help in publicising the free strength and conditioning, pre-hab and re-hab
classes alongside subsidised physiotherapy sessions would go a long way in
helping this understanding. We will be providing you with much more
information at the Refresher Training so you can feel confident in helping us
explain the cost.

Sports Fair
2011,
Wednesday 21 September
Your biggest recruitment drive of the year is fast approaching so now is the
time to start getting ready if you haven't already. Jenna Hadley will be
in contact in the next week or two with all details but the important
information is that the Fair will run between 13:00-18:00 and you will
be able to set up large equipment by consent between 19:00-21:00 on Tuesday 20 Sept and from 08:00 on the day of the Fair.
If you havent already then start thinking about how you want to represent
yourselves and think about these simple top tips:
- Make an impact. What makes your sport stand out?
- What next? Give them some dates to come back for: a trial, a first session
or a social, perhaps
- Stand out. Dont sit behind your table! Push it back and get in front of it
so you can interact with interested students
Club Notice Boards
Part of making sure that Sports Fair is as informative to prospective members
as possible, we will be clearing all club notice boards on the top corridor of
the Munrow Sports Centre on Monday 12 September. All current information
will be placed in you pigeon holes should you wish to re-use it. Please
ensure that your boards are re-done by Monday 19 September ready for the
Fair.
