Assessment task

Write a critique of the assessment scheme of a language module you teach:

  1. Describe the assessment procedures (coursework versus exams) and provide an outline of specific tasks.

  2. How do the module's learning outcomes link up with the assessment tasks?

  3. How do the individual tasks measure up against the five key criteria of validity, reliability, transparency, practicality and washback on teaching?

  4. What potential is there for introducing into the module elements of student self-assessment, peer assessment, group assessment or CAA?

  5. Include a copy of the marking criteria used on the course and evaluate their effectiveness/appropriateness.
