Write a critique of the assessment
scheme of a language module you teach:
- Describe the assessment
procedures (coursework versus exams) and provide an outline of specific
tasks.
- How do the module's learning
outcomes link up with the assessment tasks?
- How do the individual tasks
measure up against the five key criteria of validity, reliability, transparency,
practicality and washback on teaching?
- What potential is there
for introducing into the module elements of student self-assessment,
peer assessment, group assessment or CAA?
- Include a copy of the marking
criteria used on the course and evaluate their effectiveness/appropriateness.
