Note: there seems be a lot of reading here - but some extracts are only two or three pages long. It's not as bad as it looks! You could wait until the end and do all the readings from Willis (1996) together if you prefer (readings 2, 3, 7 and 8)

Reading 1
Dave Willis and Jane Willis, Task-based language learning, in Carter and Nunan (2001), pp 173-75, to the end of the section entitled 'Background'.

Reading 2
If you teach low-level students or beginners, and you have a copy of Willis (1996), I recommend that you now read pages 123-27.

Tessa Woodward's excellent chapter on paradigm shift is well worth reading if you can get it: Chapter 1 of Willis and Willis (1996).
