activities:
EITHER
- a) Make a list of the different
ways you use translation in your classroom and, with reference to the
material in this module, suggest how you might improve their effectiveness.
b) Illustrate your suggestions by collecting written material featuring
different text types and design a range of translation activities for
your students, involving work both into and out of the FL.
OR
- a) In a translation
assessment exercise, do you think students should be allowed to use
dictionaries or any other source material? Justify your answer with
reference to the material contained in this module.
b) Are literary texts suitable for translation activities in the language
classroom? Why/why not? Justify your answer with some examples, referring
to appropriate sections of this module.
OR
- Choose one of
the activities suggested in section 11.6 and
use it on an appropriate language module. You should provide a clear
rationale for the task, explaining your methodology, the way the task
was structured, how you assessed it, and describe how students reacted
and what the end product was like. Include samples of the material used
and maybe also examples of students' work.
