Outcomes

By the end of this module, you should be able to:

  • reflect on your own feelings and experiences concerning writing in the FL classroom;
  • demonstrate understanding of the rationale operated by your own and other departments when teaching writing skills;
  • evaluate more effectively a range of institutional and individual factors which determine the types of writing task that are possible for your students;
  • employ a wide variety of FL writing tasks both in and outside the classroom;
  • evaluate new practical techniques for developing your own teaching of writing;
  • implement a 'process' approach to the teaching of writing skills;
  • provide more effective feedback to students on their writing, through a variety of means;
  • deliver a diverse writing programme with greater confidence and skill.
