Dr Gerard Sharpling is a tutor in English for Academic Purposes within CELTE at the University of Warwick. He has also taught French for a number of years at tertiary level. He currently co-ordinates courses involving writing skills development, and is responsible for testing international students' English. He has published a range of articles both on literature and on language teaching methodology in Britain, America and Japan.
